Renewal
The renewal of Passport can be applied if the validity of the current passport has already expired or is less than 12 months. The following conditions apply for renewal of passport.
- Online appointment and personal presence of all the applicants is mandatory.
- Separate appointment is required for processing of every family member’s application.
- The documents required are:
- Original valid NICOP / CNIC along with a photocopy (If CNIC/NICOP is expired, lost or needs modification, please get the new one at www.nadra.gov.pk before applying for passport renewal)
- Married female applicants: original CNIC / NICOP mentioning husband’s name instead of father’s name
- Copies of both parents’ CNIC/FRC
- Last original Passport along with a photocopy of first 4 pages
- Dual nationals: Original passport and photocopy of the other nationality (e.g. Australian) passport
- Photocopy of Visa Grant Notice and fresh letter of Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO)
- Holders of Bridging visa E (BVE): the document from Department of Home Affairs (DHA), stating reason for visa
- Holders of protection visa: please fill the Form-P
- Employees of Pakistan Government: original No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued within last 90 days by the respective ministry/division/department (The NOC will be subject to confirmation/verification from the department concerned).
- Payment of fee is through EftPOS only. All credit / debit cards, except American Express, are accepted.
- For delivery of passport through post, please indicate your choice at the time of processing and provide a separate pre-paid self-addressed registered / express post envelope.
- Please remove external elements e.g. Henna and plaster from the thumb and/or fingerprint area as it makes the biometric identification difficult.
- Processing Time*:
- Urgent: 2 weeks.
- Normal: 4 weeks.
* The cases of protection visa holders and dual citizens require clearance from the relevant authorities in Pakistan. The time taken in clearance is in addition to the above-mentioned normal processing time.
Modification
The following conditions are applicable for applying modification in the passport such as change in name, marital status (female applicants only), place or date of birth:
- Online appointment and personal presence of all the applicants is mandatory.
- Separate appointment is required for processing of every family member’s application.
- The documents required are:
- Revised (modified) original valid NICOP / CNIC along with a photocopy (If CNIC/NICOP is expired, lost or needs modification, please get the new one at www.nadra.gov.pk before applying for passport modification)
- Copies of both parents’ CNIC/FRC
- Last Original Passport along with a photocopy of first 4 pages
- Dual nationals: Original passport and photocopy of the other nationality (e.g. Australian) passport
- Photocopy of Visa Grant Notice and fresh letter of Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO)
- Holders of Bridging visa E (BVE): The document from Department of Home Affairs (DHA), stating reason for visa
- Holders of protection visa Please fill the Form-P

Lost
The following conditions are applicable for applying a replacement of a lost passport:
- Online appointment And personal presence of all the applicants is mandatory.
- Separate appointment is required for processing of every family member’s application.
- The documents required are:
- Original valid NICOP / CNIC along with a photocopy (If CNIC/NICOP is expired, lost or needs modification, please get the new one at www.nadra.gov.pk before applying for passport)
- Copies of both parents’ CNIC/FRC
- Photocopy of the lost passport (In case of lost manual passport, verification will be sought from the issuing office, which may increase the processing time)
- Duly signed “Lost Passport Report Form”
- Police Report for the passport loss
- Dual nationals: Original passport and photocopy of the other nationality (e.g. Australian) passport
- Photocopy of Visa Grant Notice and fresh letter of Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO)
- Holders of Bridging visa E (BVE): The document from Department of Home Affairs (DHA), stating the reason for BVE

Exhausted
The following conditions are applicable for applying an Exhausted passport (if the passport booklet is exhausted and has less than three blank pages):
- Online appointment And personal presence of all the applicants is mandatory.

Minors (newborn or below 18 years)
The following conditions are applicable for applying passport of a minor (newborn or child below the age of 18 years):
- Online appointment And personal presence of all the applicants is mandatory.
- Separate appointment is required for processing of every family member’s application.
- Both the parents must accompany the applicant, or present a written consent duly signed by the Justice of Peace on behalf of the absenting parent.
- Children up-to 15 years of age are issued passport with five (05) years validity only.
- The documents required are:
- Applicants born in Pakistan: Original valid NICOP/Smart Card/NADRA Form B along with a photocopy
- Applicants born outside Pakistan: Original valid NICOP along with a photocopy (If NICOP is expired, lost or needs modification, please get the new one at www.nadra.gov.pk before applying for passport)
- Original passports of both the parents along with a photocopy of first 4 pages
- Original valid CNIC/NICOP of both the parents along with a photocopy
- Copies of valid visas of both the parents
- Marriage certificate of the parents, or Guardianship Certificate/Court decision in case of separation, or Death certificate in case of death of any of the parents
- Form S-1 / Birth Certificate and photocopy
- Dual nationals: Original passport and photocopy of the other nationality (e.g. Australian) passport
- Photocopy of Visa Grant Notice and fresh letter of Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO)

Frequently Asked Questions (Passport)
Is there any special requirement for married female applicants?
Yes.
The applicants are required to bring original CNIC / NICOP card which should have their husband’s name. If the husband’s name does not appear in the card, the applicant is required to approach the NADRA for modification in accordance with her marital status before applying for passport. In case of divorces, same procedure of modification in CNIC / NICOP is required for substituting father’s name in place of husband’s name.
Is it possible to rectify or make changes in the name spelling in passport after submission of data?
No.
Applicant applying in new category (first-time Machine-Readable Passport after manual passport) or modifying name spelling etc, must carefully read DATA FORM especially name spelling. After signing declaration in data form, the applicant will be responsible for any mistake. If any applicant desires to make changes after submission of data, he / she will be required to repeat the complete process and pay fee afresh.
Is it possible to include surname or family name in Passport?
Yes.
If the applicant does not have a surname or family name to modify or add his / her surname / family name, he / she will be required to approach NADRA for modification of his / her CNIC / NICOP first before incorporating changes in passport.
Is it possible to get the place of birth changed?
No.
For change of birthplace, please contact NADRA for necessary change before getting the passport processed.
Is there any special requirement for applicants from Fiji, PNG?
Applicant living in Fiji or PNG can get passport issued from the High Commission for Pakistan in Canberra or Consulate General of Pakistan, Sydney. For passport delivery by post, please provide Australian post international registered post envelope.
Is applicant's presence a mandatory requirement for issuance of passport?
Yes.
Personal presence is mandatory for issuance of passport.
Fee for issuance of passport?
The fee for issuance of passport depends upon number of pages, validity (5 or 10 years) and status of passport/s lost.
What is the mode of payment?
Fee is required to be paid through EftPOS. All Credit / Debit Cards are accepted except American Express.
Do I need to bring copies of parents' IDs (CNIC/Passport)?
Yes.
In some cases, verification of parents’ IDs is also required. Alternatively, you can bring the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) for the purpose.
