Attestation of Documents (except Power of Attorney)

The following conditions are applicable to the attestation of documents, except Power of Attorney:

  1. All documents (such as birth, death, marriage, divorce certificates and educational degrees etc.) issued by the Australian entities needing attestation are to be first notarized/attested by the Authentication Office of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) located in every state capital of Australia.
  2. All documents (such as birth, death, marriage, divorce, Police Character Certificates and educational degrees etc.) issued by the departments of the Government of Pakistan needing attestation are to be first notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad or its four camp offices in the provincial capitals.
  3. The documents required are:
    • The Original Document(s)
    • Application Form for Attestation must be duly filled in and signed including statutory declaration. Please fill out form in block or capital letters.
    • Applicant’s copy of Passport
    • Applicant’s copy of CNIC / NICOP / POC
  4. Documents may be submitted in person or through mail/courier.
  5. For delivery of attested documents through post, please provide a pre-paid self-addressed registered / express post envelope.
  6. The attestation of documents is done the same day, if all the documents are complete and all the requirements are fulfilled.
  7. Processing Fee
    • Processing fee is AUD 20.00 per document.
    • Fee may be paid through Postal Money Order in favour of “Consulate General of Pakistan Sydney” or EftPOS (bank charges apply) – all credit / debit cards, except American Express, are accepted.
    • No cash payment is accepted, and all payments are non-refundable.
