Birth Registration

The birth registration can be applied only for children under the age of 1 year. The following conditions apply for the birth registration:

1. One of the parents has to be a Pakistani national
2. The documents required are:
   • Application Form (Form S) duly completed and signed by both the parents; Please fill out form in block or capital letters.
   • Three photographs of the child with the child’s name written on the back;
   • Copy of the child’s Birth Certificate attested by Justice of Peace (JP);
   • Copies of Pakistani Passport and National Identity Card of both parents duly attested by JP;
   • Copy of Marriage Certificate/ Nikah Nama of parents attested by JP;
   • In case of one parent not being a Pakistani national, a letter of consent from the non-Pakistani parent duly attested by JP.
3. Documents may be submitted in person or through mail/courier.
4. For delivery of birth registration certificate through post, please provide a pre-paid self-addressed registered / express post envelope.
5. Processing Time is 2 weeks after completion of all the documents
6. Processing fee:
   • Processing fee is AUD 20.00.
   • Fee may be paid through Postal Money Order in favour of “Consulate General of Pakistan Sydney” or EftPOS (bank charges apply) – all credit / debit cards, except American Express, are accepted.
   • No cash payment is accepted, and all payments are non-refundable.
